The History of Pokémon
Pokémon was introduced to Japan in the year 1995. Since then it has become an international phenomenon that spans not only Japan, but also North America, Europe, and other parts of Asia. One man, Satoshi Tajiri, inventor of Pokémon, started this wave. Tajiri wished to let modern youth share in his childhood pastime and to help them foster friendships and healthy competition (Interview with Tajiri).
